Chick Ripper Of The Month: Pam Diaz

Pam Diaz is an absolute ripper of a woman, she has been shredding the hills of the Dominican Republic for a few years now and is slowly taking over the world (not literally but you catch our drift). We caught up with Pam to see how 2013 treated her and to find out what 2014 is to bring!

B.O.B: Okey Dokey Pam, what has been the best part of 2013 for you?
Pam: The best part of the year has been skating everywhere I could! I had a great time learning new stuff and getting more and more comfortable on my board. From DR to PR then to California and NYC, this year has been full of adventures and good memories thats for sure. Stoked on all the cool stuff that is to come!

B.O.B: Sounds like a good year! How about the biggest lesson you learnt?
Pam: Don't jump off kicker ramps!

B.O.B: Bad experience?
Pam: Broke my leg!

B.O.B: Tits!

B.O.B: So whats the plan for 2014?
Pam: I'm going to travel a lot next year and play fast skateboards in new places. Hopefully I will catch a few races and just be around, ya know!

B.O.B: Shout outs?

Check out this clip of Pam skating down a run called 'La Lomota' in Northern Dominican Republic. This is Pam in her element and to prove it she came 1st in a race held on this run the very next day!

Skate Date 2.0 Was 10/10

The Brisbane chick rippers are kicking it! Last Saturday we had 10 or so girls rock up to the second Skate Date that we have held in collaboration with Sk8er and boy did we have fun!

PROGRESSION is by far the best way to explain how the day went. Girls were learning from their mistakes (shout out to Sam for the best crash), learning from one another and learning simply from doing the same thing repetitively! That last lesson is one I learnt from the day. You can watch hundreds of videos on youtube or ask as many people as you can how to do a certain trick or how to best slide through a corner but in reality the only way you are going to get it right is by doing it over and over again.

It brings me such joy to see girls ripping with one another, and I honestly cannot wait until they start challenging the boys for opens podium positions!
